  1. What year was she born in? And were her parents a part of her life growing up?

  2. Hi Katie, Michelle and Michael, Sue Monk Kidd was born August 12, 1948 which makes her 61 years old as of today.

Her dad was actually a big influence in her writings, since he was always telling her imaginative stories. During her adolescence, english teachers called her a born writer and she always kept journals about her experiences (Traveling with Pomegranates is based on journals and inspired by Greek myths), so her custom of keeping journals hasn't change.

She had always wanted to be a writer, but she didn't pursue her career in writing until her thirties, due to, as she described it, "lack of courage."

  3. It seems that Sue Monk Kidd has studied many things in her life. She has studied nursing, writing, and feminist theology. Has she received a degree in any of these subjects or any other?

  4. The only degree I am sure about is a B.S. in nursing although she has also taught nursing.
